4th Annual Caesar's Creek
Banding Event!
8570 E State Route 73, Waynesville, OH 45068-9719
Saturday,
February 27
|
Caesar Creek / Army Corps of Engineers maintains feeders that have
18 species visiting them in the winter.
The general public have been invited from 9 AM—1 PM, and we
plan to do some banding demonstrations, and talk about species and
plumages. In addition,
Friends of Caesar Creek State Park volunteer organization will be on
site, selling bird feeders and nest boxes.
This is a great opportunity for us to practice aging and
sexing of winter birds, and for us to help non-banders learn more
about birds and banding.
Hands-on experience with wildlife is one of the most important ways
people become interested in ecology and conservation, and we can be
a significant part of that experience.
Details:
Nets, traps, and banding equipment will be
provided.
Bring your own
lunch. We will have a
coffee pot and some bagels or donuts in a back room.
There is a kitchen, so you will have access to microwave and
refrigerator. There are
a few restaurants in Waynesville.
Please contact Bob Thobaben,
thobaben@erinet.com, to let him
know you are planning to come.
If the weather looks questionable, call CCVC
(513-897-1050) or Bob Thobaben after hours (937-382-4739; 6-10 PM)
Friday evening to check whether the event has been cancelled.
