Directions to OBBA Fall Meeting and Sparrow Banding

Miami Whitewater Forest , Harrison , OH

1.       Take I 71 or I 75 to Cincinnati . 

2.       Take 275 W to I 74 W (toward Indianapolis ). 

3.       Go W on I 74.  The first exit will be Dry Fork Road ( Harrison , OH ). 

To Sparrow Banding:

3.   Turn right (NE) onto Dry Fork.  Go approximately 5 miles to the town of New

        Haven .  There is a red blinking light in New Haven with an unusual 3 way intersection. 

4.       Turn left at blinking light onto Oxford Road . 

5.     Proceed approx 50 ft and turn left onto Baughman Rd.   About ½ mile up  

        Baughman, you will encounter a bicycle trail crossing; almost immediately       

        after the bike crossing is a pond on your right.  Just past the pond is a dirt        

        parking area on your right

6.     Pull into parking area on right and park.  You are now on the West side of the   

        pond.  Follow the red flags on the ground.

7.     Walk toward the pond and through the tree line.  Turn left and walk along the  

        western edge of the pond about 500 yds to the back of the pond (go past the        

        path to the observation building).  Once past the pond, turn right and walk         

        through the wetlands along the North rim of the pond.  We are banding on the     

        north east side of the pond.  You should see a large canopy.

To OBBA Mtg at Visitors Center

3.                 Turn right onto New Haven Rd.   Go approximately 2.5 miles to Mt. Hope Road .

4.                 Turn right onto Mt Hope Rd.  

Entrance to park is about ½ mile down on the right.  Be prepared to pay a park entry fee

$1 daily/$3 annual.  The visitor center is straight ahead along the lake.
