| How many can take the written test at a time? |
The fewer he better as there are likely to be fewer distractions. But
there are no set rules on the number taking the written test at one
time, just that it must be monitored by a certified trainer.
It will definitely take time to grade more exams. In the past I have been able
to do it almost immediately but if there are 6+ at the next OBBA
session, I don't think that will happen. |

Each candidate must be examined by two certified trainers, so that
affects the number of candidates who can be done at a session.

how long do we have AFTER taking the written test to complete the field
test? |
I believe one year but will have to check on that. I do know that you
have to state on the application that you are attending a certain
session and have to be pre-approved for it by the local session
committee. |

There is a $25 examination fee to NABC to
take the exam. This covers the entire exam process. (some
field stations may charge a fee to administer the field
exam). |

It is best to attend
one in your region of the country so that one is familiar with the bird
species.
There is a new opportunity to test individuals at their own
banding stations. The protocol is new and hasn't been tried yet. I
hope to do one within the year to test it out. |

around the country at different times of the year. |
