If you're interested in learning more about bird banding, or would like to volunteer to help with a field study, please contact any of the site coordinators listed below. Additionally, many banders welcome friends, family, small groups of students, or study groups to their banding research stations. Check out the list below to find out whose banding in or near your area.

You need not have any experience to assist in a banding project—there are plenty of tasks that you can help with such as setting up nets and recording data. Other skills can be acquired over time and with the proper supervision.

If you are interested in volunteering, you will learn all the skills necessary when you visit a station. Remember, if it were not for you, our volunteers, bird banding would not be a successful or an effective tool in the preservation of and research of our avian friends. Volunteer today!

The two most common research projects are: Migration Banding and M.A.P.S. banding. Click the links below for information.                   M.A.P.S.   &     MIGRATION
